Acknowledgment of Country:

I acknowledge the traditional owners of the land in which I learn, create and explore, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation and the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug nation. As well as traditional owners of the land I live on, the Wangal people of the Eora nation. I pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging and acknowledge their long history and knowledge.

Project Blurb:

The Kinetic Typography project aimed to explore the theme of place through the medium of motion graphics. My project explores the vibrant and alternative suburb of Newtown. The words "thriving urban decay" used in the motion graphic reflect the essence of Newtown and my personal interpretation of the suburb. The video is a combination of video footage, photography, audio and text in order to effectively communicate the atmosphere of the place. This project has helped me understand how movement can communicate abstract ideas about place and time. I have learnt about the importance of using material in order to communicate a narrative arc significant to the purpose of a project. My project is bright, bold, eccentric and colourful just like Newtown.
